What Does a PLC Do?

A PLC reads inputs from sensors (temperature, pressure, position, speed) and controls outputs (motors, valves, pumps, conveyors) based on a programmed logic. It operates in real-time, executing its program every few milliseconds. PLCs are designed to run 24/7 in harsh industrial environments with extreme temperatures, vibration, and electrical noise.

What Does SCADA Do?

SCADA collects data from PLCs, RTUs (Remote Terminal Units), and sensors across a plant and presents it on a visual dashboard called an HMI (Human-Machine Interface).
